Random Walk

A random walk is a path formed by a sequence of steps where each step's direction is chosen at random. Given a set of constraints or rules, rather than computing exactly where a particle or agent will end up, you simply let it wander and observe the emergent behavior across many steps or walkers. It is essentially a Monte Carlo simulation unfolding over time.

The simulation below shows three drifting independent walkers. Each walker starts at a random position in space and, at every tick, nudges its velocity by a small random amount before moving. However, the only constraint we impose is the walls: when a walker reaches one, it bounces back. Click and drag to orbit the scene.
